Decisions and preparation for placement

It's great to know what to expect when out on shoots and managaing your independent time when freelancing . Its wise to additionally learn about preparation for enetering the work environment and being with other people. Especially since I’d like to grow in creative spaces such as galleries and studios.

Watching Ten Bullets by Tom Sachs on youtube I learnt that to operate respectfully and efficiently its best to

-respect for the space

-understand rules which surround organisation

-being on time

-keep a list

- proof and receipts

General respect and consideration for the environment and people in it, if everyone follows the rules and communicates, its easier to work in harmony.

I have transferable skills and practice with respecting a work environment from my part time job, ive seen the effects of careless work from one person and it has a knock on effect to everyone else. It takes effort and mindfullnes to be a decent employee.

After having a career talk with Beth, its best to tailor work experience to an area that is going to help my skills for future jobs. Action planning and considering things like – how can I get there? what steps I need to take, who can help and what could stop me?

From recognising what ethics and responsibilities come with being in the work place, its time to reach out to the people and organisations which I have researched.

45% of the hidden job market is through networking. In order to put networking learnings into practice, Its best that I ask for work experience through people and organisations that I’ve met or been to through studying.

After visiting Stills and having an introduction from Joseph and Morwenna kindly put a letter of recommendation forward, it would be a great opportunity to reach out and ask.

Elements of a successful letter – learning about who you’re sending too and highlight points that resonate and why you want to apply, state what I can offer.

I also emailed Izzy asking if she would like any assistance on her shoots.

I took a less formal approach when it came to emailing Izzy because of previously meeting her and having a conversation about our work.
